On 9th May, following the tradition of previous years, European Arts and Science Associations celebrated Europe Day in Shanghai at OFOTO Gallery and Moganshan Road 50, Building 7, Room 102.

The highlights of Europe Day included a Forum on the topic “When AI Homogenizes Culture and Information Bypasses Consciousness: Where Lies Responsibility?”, the opening of the OFOTO “Blooms over Blooms” Exhibition, a preview of the “Hearing the Breath of the Wind” Contemporary Art Exhibition, a poetry reading, and a book presentation.

The forum featured speakers Filippo Fabrocini (Tongji University & President of AAIIC), Benoit Vermander (Fudan University & Director of the Xu-Ricci Dialogue Center), and Alberto Sanseverino (Creative Director – Experiential & New Media Worlds).

The Blooms over Blooms exhibition at OFOTO showcased the work of three Chinese artists: Wang Yabin (王亚彬), Wang Xiao (王骁), and Luo Yongjin (罗永进). The Hearing the Breath of the Wind – Contemporary Art Exhibition Preview at Moganshan Road 50, Building 7, Room 102, featured the works of Liu Bolin (刘勃麟), Benoit Vermander (笨笃), Tom F. Klein, Zane Mellupe, Daniele Mattioli, Xie Aige (谢艾格), Yang Xiaojian (杨小健), Sebastiano Caruso, Jiang Naijun (蒋乃骏), Andrea M. Figueiredo, Roland Darjes, Virginie Lerouge Knight, LogArtOn, Panos Dimitropoulos, and WeAre Collective.

The poetry reading was given by Giacomo Caruso, with a Chinese translation read by YiYi. The book presentation was given by Andrea M. Figueiredo, Photographer and Artist.

This Europe Day celebration in Shanghai was organized by EASA and co-organized with AAIIC (Associazione Accademici Italiani in Cina), RICE (Red de Investigadores China-España), and WhyWhyArt, with support from EUCJIC – EU China Joint Innovation Center, A Home of Science – Italy, ERA, ESA, COSPACE, OFOTO & ANART, AIE, TWG, SPICI, and inventi.
